Following 16 years of living and working in France and in the UK, in 1998 she decided to return to Cyprus where she has been based ever since. She passed the EU inter-institutional freelance test in 2002 and has been working for the European Commission and Parliament regularly either on itinerant missions or in Brussels or Strasbourg for the plenary sessions. She has recently also added her second mother tongue, Romanian to her official language combination at the European Institutions. She works regularly for various national Ministries, the Cyprus House of Representatives, local political parties and trade unions.
She has a wide experience in various medical fields both in conference interpreting and in translating medical texts (in sub-specialties such as cardiology, anaesthesiology, endocrinology, dentistry, veterinary medicine, neonatology, paediatrics, psychiatry).
Thanks to her experience in interpreter training, she was assigned by the University of Cyprus to coordinate and teach on a EU-funded Masters in Conference Interpreting from 2004 to 2007.
